A Vault Assistant with Fidelity Bank has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment in hard labour.
The 27 year – old felon, Osman Abdul Gafaru, was convicted on the charges of attempted robbery, unlawful entry, as well as causing damage to the bank’s property.
He, together with an accomplice, Caesar, broke into the bank in the evening of November 11, 2016. Caesar is however still at large.
The court established Gafaru’s guilt on all the charges, with the exception of that of conspiracy.
He was therefore acquitted and discharged on the count of conspiracy, but jailed for 15 years on the charge of attempted robbery.
He is again serve for three (3) months for the offence of unlawful entry, as well as causing unlawful damage to a door valued at GHc1000.
