The police at the Sao Paulo International Airport have arrested a female South African officer identified as Angela Maluleke for possession of hard substance.
Maluleke who is from Giyani in Limpopo area of South Africa was picked up after she was allegedly found with six bricks of substance in her possession.
It was gathered that the 33-year-old female officer was heading to Johannesburg when she was nabbed at the airport.
Nelson Kgwete, departmental spokesman, noted that the South African Consulate in Sao Paulo was working with Brazil to bring her to justice for her crime.
Kgwete said: “The South African Consulate in Sao Paulo is working with the Brazilian authorities and more information will be provided to us later.”
South African police spokesman, Vuyo Mhaga, expressed disappointment on the behavior of the 33-year-old officer. He said the woman’s crime tainted the image of the police.

Mhaga further noted that the arrest was made by Interpol SA in conjunction with Brazilian police.
