- His fiancee Georgina Kennedy has inspired him through a miracle recovery process
- He now hopes to be able to walk down the aisle at their wedding next year
A dedicated fiancee in the UK is inspiring her boyfriend who was paralyzed while on duty through a miracle recovery process.
Stuart Collins, 26, suffered a gunshot wound in Afghanistan that paralyzed him from the chest down when he was 19.
Doctors feared that he would never be able to walk again. However, his fiancee Georgina Kennedy, 30, kept researching online and came up with a recovery program.
In an interview, Georgina said: “I got all my information from Google. I just kept googling ‘incomplete spinal injury rehabilitation’. It was like watching YouTube videos and all that sort of stuff."
They tried several methods over a period of more than a year and stuck with the ones that produced results. Now Stuart is able to take some steps with some help.
Stuart said if it wasn't for Georgina, he wouldn't even be in a position to take a few steps. They plan to wed next year and their aim is for him to walk down the aisle.
They are also fundraising and are optimistic that they will achieve their target. This is the definition of true love and we wish them all the best!
