- The Takoradi audition for the 60th edition of Miss Ghana saw the judges sack a lady with bleached skin
- She confirmed that she had actually tampered with the complexion of her natural skin
A ‘light skinned’ lady who was hoping to make the list of contestants for this year’s Miss Ghana pageantry has been turned away by the judges.
The incident took place during auditions in Takoradi in the Western Region, to determine who makes the final list of contestants.
Joy news reports that the said lady, whose name is withheld, came for the auditions but fell short after the judges found out she had bleached her skin.
She accepted that she had bleached her skin, but offered to explain the circumstances that led to her having a fair skin.
She explained that she was having rashes on her face and consulted a cosmetologist to help her out. According to her, the cosmetologist introduced her to a cream, not knowing that it will turn out to be a catalyst for bleaching.
She added that she no longer uses the said cream, but could not convince the judges with her explanation, hence she was turned away.
The grand audition for this year’s Miss Ghana@60 pageantry will be held on September 1 in Accra. However, auditions are currently ongoing in the various regions with the Volta and Western Regions already completed.
