Police man escapes close lynching by suspected wee smokers

-A Police Corporal escaped being lynched by wee smokers at Tesano

-The Policeman was warning the wee smokers to stop the act when they turned on him

-He was rescued from the knife-wielding smokers by some other colleagues

Police Corporal Dominic Adiali of the Form Police Unit (FPU) escaped lynching by the whiskers from some suspected wee smokers behind Peace FM in Tesano, Accra.

Recounting the incident, Corporal Dominic Adiali indicated that he had gone to see a tailor around the Tesano area for a dress he wanted to have sown. He added that tailor was not around so he decided to wait for him.

It was then that he saw a group of men smoking something he suspected to be Indian hemp. The police man approached the group in an attempt to get them to stop smoking.

It is reported that one of the suspected smokers who took offence in the policeman’s interference tried to attack the policeman with a broken bottle. It is reported that Corporal Dominic Adiali friend tried to diffuse the situation but was also attacked and chased by the wee smokers who were believed to be carrying knives and stones.

The friend of the police run for his life and called for help for Corporal Dominic Adiali who had been left behind.

The calls for help attracted other Form Police Unit (FPU) and patrol teams who rushed to the scene to save the corporal. Upon arriving at the scene, Corporal Dominic Adiali was being attacked by the wee smokers whilst he was pinned to the ground.

The Corporal was rescued and 9 of the suspected wee smokers were arrested. Among the suspects was a woman and they have all been sent to the Tesano Police Station to assist in investigations.
