Local business by the name of Joe Forson, has accused the National Democratic Congress's (NDC) General Secretary, Mr. John Asiedu Nketia, of "sweetening" the facts of with of an alleged "gun attack" incident that occurred on the Accra Kumasi highway.
Over the last few days, reports emerged that NDC General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia was involved in an incident where masked, assault rifle wielding men allegedly attacked a motorist traveling ahead of his own vehicle.
According to Mr. Asiedu Nketia, when he saw the incident occurring before him he stopped his vehicle and - along with military friend who was in vehicle with him - attempted to rescue the driver ahead of him.

“I had a friend army officer who was with me in the car so he got down first and identified himself and asked them what was their problem," said the NDC General Secretary.
This version of how the incident occurred, according to Ghanaian businessman Joe Forson, is a total misrepresentation of the truth.

“he was not attacked…It’s not true because he was not there and was only briefed so I am shocked at his account…,” he related.
According to Mr. Joe Forson, he [Joe Forson] was also stopped at when the incident occurred and Mr. Asiedu Nketia came to meet him at the stop. Mr. Joe Forson, speaking to Asempa FM, expressed incredulity and called out the NDC General Secretary for lying about the incident.
“I want to meet Asiedu Nketia and his driver so I can challenge him on these claims. Am shocked an old man like him can make these unsubstantiated claims…,” he said.
Mr. Forson alleges that Mr. Asiedu Nketia called him [Joe Forson] to find out what really happened in the incident.
