Asamoah Gyan has called on Ghanaians to keep up the faith and trust in the national football team, the Ghana Black Stars to deliver a good game and qualify for the next World Cup tournament.
Gyan, who is the captain of the Black Stars made this call to Ghanaians after a training session of the team.
Ghana will play Congo in back-to-back qualifiers over the next six days and the results in the two matches will largely determine whether the four-time African champions will qualify for the tournament in Russia.
The Black Stars are scheduled to clash with the Congolese side on Friday, 1st September at Kumasi and meet the side in Brazzaville for the second-leg four days later.
The slim chances of Ghana qualifying for the World Cup got a boost when underdogs, Uganda defeated Egypt on Thursday.
"What I can tell them is that they shouldn't give up though we haven't started our qualification matches well but we have till the end," Gyan said.
"Friday's game is what is important now and we need to go in all out and make sure we win then we see what happens", he said reassuringly.
