- His wife Rohima has stuck by him and cares for him and the family singlehandedly
- He has paid tribute to her
A 60-year-old man in Bangladesh has paid a heartfelt tribute to his dedicated wife who has stuck by him even after he was left disabled by a stroke.
Nur Islam shared his story with photojournalist GMB Akash, who posted it on his Facebook page.
Nur began by saying: "I feel shame while I see my Rohima working so very hard to run our family and I can’t do anything for her. I can’t even walk properly. Instead of helping her I have to sit all the time which makes me feel so ashamed."
He said that he suffered a stroke four years ago but Rohima has not left him because of his disability as some wives do.
Instead, she ensures that she's there for him and has lunch with him every single day even though she has to work as a maid to support their family.
Nur added: "She is like an angel in my life who shields us from everything; little difficulties in our lives."
He also fondly recalled how they met, courted and got married. Their story is indeed one of true love and it touched many commenters. See some of their reactions below.
