- Nana Addo is urging Mulims to take interest in educating their kids
- He says his Free SHS policy will help cushion poor Ghanaian parents
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Friday joined thousands of Muslims at the Independence Square in Accra to mark this year’s Eid ul-Adha.
The ceremony commemorates Prophet Ibraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s command and also marks the end of Hajj, pilgrimage to Mecca.
Addressing thousands of Islamic leaders, Nana Addo encouraged Muslim parents to take education of their children seriously to help address poverty in their communities.
He also assured that his administration will help tackle disease and underdevelopment among Zongo communities across Ghana.
The president also added that his Free SHS policy scheduled to take off this month will take care of poor parents who cannot afford to cater for their kids in school.
