The ministry of education has announced that students from the rural and less-privileged areas in the country would enjoy 30% of the Free SHS package.

It added that this move is designed to ensure equality and quality in the admission of students into the Senior High School programme.
It added that all the relevant stakeholders have been engaged at the various levels in order to make it a success.
The ministry noted that students from the rural areas are usually endure more hardships with regard to the access to education in the country.
This move, it added, is based on the plan not to leave any qualified child out of the programme.
The minister of education, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh noted that the necessities for the smooth running of the programme have been made available to the relevant institutions; however a few things would be directly provided by the ministry.
