- School girls protest in demand for skinny pants to be part of their uniform
-The South African students are not happy with their current school dress code
-The two unruly students paralyzed learning and incited other students
Two rowdy South African students have reportedly triggered angry protests demanding for skinny pants to be introduced as part of their uniforms.
The unnamed school girls from Hoerskool Pretoria Wes reportedly skipped classes and totally paralyzed learning in the school.
“They caused disruption of teaching and learning and incited other students to boycott classes over dress code,” reports local media.
Investigation into the weighty matter has since found that the two notorious students had even set up a Whatsapp group where they promoted their controversial school dress code agenda.
While commenting on the matter, MEC Panyaza Lesufi said it was okay for students to demand for their rights, but these particular girls were going about it the wrong way.
“If they indeed want skinny pants, then it’s within their rights to approach the school governing body. They have to follow the right procedure” says Lesufi.
Police officers were consequently dispatched to the affected institution to stop the morning protest and restore normalcy.
It’s not yet clear what action was taken against the rioting teens and their ring leaders.
