Man lynched by angry mob for killing another relative in Walewale

The Police in West Mamprusi have confirmed the death of a man suspected to have been lynched through mob attack at Zanguvugu village near Walewale.

The man was beaten to death with sticks, cutlass and other offensive weapons by some angry mob after he allegedly killed another relative.

The victim, identified as Gafaru Amadu was said to have brutally killed another man with a cutlass over some unknown reasons.

According to the West Mamprusi District Police Commander, DSP Sarpong Aboagye his outfit received information that Gafaru has slit the throat of another man at the village over some misunderstandings.

He said he therefore dispatched a team of investigators to the village only to confirm the incidence.

He said his team discovered the victim as Issahaku Ibrahim laying on a dusty floor in a pool of blood.

DSP Sarpong Aboagye added that his men also rescued Gafaru unconsciously tied to a tree with deep machete wounds all over his body but later died whiles being transported to the hospital.

The Police told Starr FM in Accra that details of the incident are still unfolding and that the two bodies are currently undergoing autopsy at the Walewale hospital.

The Police said this is the second lynching incidence witnessed in the Mamprusi District in this year.
