One of Ghana’s Dancehall kings, Livingstone Etse Satekla popularly known by his stage name Stonebwoy, was awarded a Citation of Excellence by a United States Senator.
The internationally acclaimed dancehall musician was honored during his stay in New York City, where he was performing at the 50th New York Caribbean festival.
StoneBwoy posted the photo via his Facebook page, expressing excitement at receiving such an honor.
“Citation From the Senator of the 20th District in NYC. Lawyer Jesse Hamilton for my role in the development of Caribbean music and arts over the years in Brooklyn Theatre. After My performance at the 50th New York Caribbean Festival…” he wrote.
The ‘Go Higher’ hitmaker is set to perform at the Gramercy Theatre on September 8, as part of his ‘Stonebwoy in New York’ Concert.
He was recently signed onto Zylofon Media, along with other star acts such as Becca, Zynnell Zuh and Benedicta Gafah.
