- Ablakwa says Nana must beg Ghanaians for forgiveness of his 'sins'
- He says Nana gave false promise to Ghanaians of Free SHS policy
The National Democratic Congress (NDC), Member of Parliament for the North Tongue constituency, Okudzeto Ablakwa is calling on President Akufo-Addo to render an apology to Ghanaians over his Free SHS policy.
According to the NDC man, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), leader promised Ghanaians a comprehensive free educational policy for all, but now shifting goal post in its implementation.
Speaking on Asempa FM in Accra, the MP said he does not understand why the Akufo-Addo government is exempting continuing students from his much touted Free SHS policy.
He insisted that the free policy by the NPP government is a complete sham which was packaged to deceive Ghanaian voters in a build up to the 2016 elections.
Okudjeto Ablakwa, who was a former deputy Education Minister under the Mahama administration, argues that President Akufo-Addo promised Free SHS for all Ghanaian children during his 2016 campaign therefore cannot discriminate.
“This cutback on beneficiaries of the Free SHS policy is at variance with the NPP’s manifesto promise and amounts to a deception by NPP government so they must apologize to us,” Ablakwa said.
He added that the Akufo-Addo led NPP administration has deceived Ghanaians, therefore he must do the honorable thing and apologize over the huge gaffe.
