YEN.com.gh is gathering that the Ayew Brothers had opted out of the match following a reported food poisoning on the part of Jordan Ayew. Also, Andre Ayew is also reported to be returning to the UK for treatment after incurring a minor injury in the wake of the just ended match.
Captain Asamoah Gyan is also reported to have been ruled out of this crucial match following claims that he is suffering from back pains.
With all these key players opting out of the match, there are fears of that the Black Stars could indeed have their dreams of making it to the World Cup destroyed.
Meanwhile, Coach of the senior Black Stars, Kwesi Appiah, says he still has high hopes of the Black Stars making it to the 2018 World Cup despite losing a must win match against Congo on Friday.
Addressing the media moments after the crucial game, the coach revealed that his team is doing everything possible to ensure that it wins all outstanding matches so as to secure a mathematically possible place in the World Cup.
Prior to the Ghana game, the race to top Group E, which guarantees qualification, had been blown wide open by Uganda following the Cranes stunning home victory over Egypt.
