Overlord of the Ashanti kingdom Otumfuo Osei Tutu II had made a donation of GHc 50,000 to the wife and children of the late Major Maxwell Adam Mahama.
The sum was presented upon a visit to the Asantehene by some family members of the late soldier, including his wife and father.
The late Major Mahama sadly lost his life at Denkyira Obuasi in the Central Region after being lynched by the people of the town on suspicion of being an armed robber.
The military man's death drew sympathy from far and near, with President Akufo-Addo setting up a fund to cater for the family he left behind.
There have also been donations from people from all walks of life in support of the bereaved family, with the dead soldier since being promoted to the position of Major from his initial post of Captain.
And his family has again received support in the form of money from the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The Ashanti King donated a sum of GHc 50,000 to the family of the fallen soldier, while describing him as a noble man who served the nation well in his short life.
He urged the family to leave everything that had happened into the hands of God, emphasising that the donation was geared towards supporting the education of the late soldier's children.
The late Major Mahama left behind two children and a wife.
