The pain of the Black Stars not qualifying for the 2018 World Cup continues to get many football fans raging especially after captain of the team, Asamoah Gyan revealed that his team mates just did not have the desire to win.

The latest person to vent his anger on Asamoah Gyan for making such a "childish" claim is sports journalist and host of Adom FM/TV's Fire for Fire - Countryman Songo.

Reacting to the comments made by Asamoah Gyan after the abysmal performance against Congo, Songo fumed that it remained "only a fool" could make such a statement.

"We spent taxpayers’ money on you, you are leading the team and you say you had no desire to win? You are fools. You are a big fool, so to speak. It is a foolish comment," the vociferous presenter retorted.

YEN.com.gh is gathering that the Ayew Brothers had opted out of the match following a reported food poisoning on the part of Jordan Ayew. Also, Andre Ayew is also reported to be returning to the UK for treatment after incurring a minor injury in the wake of the just ended match.

Captain Asamoah Gyan is also reported to have been ruled out of this crucial match following claims that he is suffering from back pains.

The Black Stars need victory in Congo to have a mathematical chance of bouncing back in the World Cup qualification, especially should Uganda hold Egypt. Uganda remains top of the group with seven points after beating Egypt 1-0 in Thursday’s game. Egypt is second with six points followed by Ghana on two points and Congo with a point.
