A Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Pious Hadzide, has stated that government does not intend to take only New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters to next year's 2018 World Cup, contrary to recent rhetoric made by high ranking ruling party executives.
Deputy Sports Minister Pius Hadzide, who was speaking to members of the media in Ziope in the Volta Region, related that there was no dehe wasn't aware of any government decision to take only ruling party supporters to next year's World Cup should the senior national manage to qualify for the big event.
The Deputy Minister also revealed that he was unaware of comments by the NPP National Youth Organizer, Mr. Sammy Awuku, to the effect that government only intended to fly NPP supporters to next year's World Cup, saying, "that is not the position of the ministry,"
"...as it is now, it all boils down to the technical team and a team of 11 players on the field," said the Deputy Minister.

Deputy Minister Hadzide also stated that he could not comment on the senior national sides performance last weekend at Ghana vs Congo qualifier that was played in Kumasi since - according to him - he did not watch the match.
Furthermore, Deputy Minister Hadzide declined to make any predictions regarding the upcoming return leg match scheduled to be played today in Brazzaville.
