Mzbel has come under heavy criticism from sections of the Ghanaian public for her overt support for the NDC party. This to the extent that NPP (New Patriotic Party) supporters besieged her home after last year's December elections demanding her to come out and apologize to then President Elect Nana Akufo Addo for comments she made during the political campaign season.
“Truthfully, I am an NDC supporter. I grew up in James Town and most of the people there support the party…I love the party and I am comfortable with it,” she stated.
