The senior national football team, the Ghana Black Stars recovered in full force during Tuesday’s away match against Congo, after they initially lost to them on the homefront.
The Black Stars scored 5 goals against the Congolese national team, an impressive comeback even though some major members of the team had to sit the match out.
As fans jubilated the win across social media platforms, a video emerged of the team in their pre-game mood, where former captain Stephen Appiah offered some words of wisdom to the team.
In the video sighted by YEN.com.gh via Sports report Juliet Bawuah’s Instagram page, Stephen Appiah gave an electrifying pre-game speech to the team in their dressing room.
He urged the footballers to win the match not for glory or for the bonus, but for Ghana and themselves.
“Go and just have fun. Go make yourself proud and make Ghana proud,” he stated much to the excitement of the team members.
Thomas Partey scored a hat-trick goal as the Black Stars while Richmond Boakye Yiadom who started in place of the injured Asamoah Gyan, scored two goals for the Black Stars.
