- Tema West MP suspended by TMA due to demolition exercise scandal
- The decision was prompted by complaints from the PRCC
- Two other TMA members were also suspended
Member of Parliament for the Tema West constituency, Hon. Mr. Carlos Ahenkorah, has been suspended for six months by the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) over his conduct during a de-congestion exercise that took place a few days ago.

According to reports, the TMA's decision to suspend Hon. Ahenkorah was made by the Public Relations and Complaints Committee of the TMA which was chaired by Mr. Richard Fiadomor, the assembly's presiding member.
earlier this week Hon. Ahenkora lost his temper after catching wind of a de-congestion/demolition exercise being carried out by officials of the TMA. After having rushed to the scene, the Tema West MP proceeded to threaten a TMA engineer, one Maxwell Adu Boateng, and ultimately stopped the de-congestion exercise from being carried out.

According to Mr. Fiadomor, the PRCC found that Hon. Carlos Ahenkorah's conduct during the de-congestion exercise "unfortunate", and thus the parliamentarians suspension was warranted.
Though the MP was asked to come and defend his behavior, Hon. Ahenkorah failed to turn up at the Assembly meeting.

The Tema West MP is not the only one to have been slapped with a suspension, two other assembly members who verbally abused the Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE) during another exercise were also suspended. One received two months, while another received three.
