YEN.com.gh can report that Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan paid for the flight of the team from Congo Brazzaville to Accra.
The Black Stars arrived in Accra late Tuesday evening after the team walloped Congo 5-1 in a World Cup qualifier.
According to management member of the Black Stars, Wilfred Osei Ryan had to pay for the team because the Sports Ministry canceled an initial arrangement last minute.
The arrangement was put together to help players get to Accra by late Tuesday evening for onward travels to their various bases in Europe for the resumption of club football duties.
The players had been given a September 7 deadline for their return, but government’s eventual resolution of the challenge would have seen the players arrive in Europe on September 8 and getting punished subsequently.
Gyan sat out in the demolishing of Congo due to an injury in the first leg in Kumasi.
