Songo, who is known for his hard hitting comments against the senior national team was recently livid with the team’s performance during their home game against Congo last weekend.

The host of Adom TV’s ‘Fire for Fire’ sports show criticized the team for their poor performance during the game, going as far as to call them ‘fools.’

This did not sit well with Asamoah Gyan, who seems to have lost his patience with the TV host.

Speaking in interview on Hot FM on Wednesday, Asamoah Gyan expressed disappointment in what he describes as the ‘unpatriotic’ behavior of some personalities.

He was saddened that some people would wish for the defeat of the team just so there will be fodder for their harsh criticisms.

In every country, we have builders of the state and destroyers. That particular guy (Songo) is a destroyer. He does not care about positive news. He only dwells on negativity,” Gyan stated.

He added he did not hold Songo accountable for his actions, but rather the network that enables him to continue his tirade against the national team.

Asamoah Gyan added: “They allow such a stupid guy to always go on radio or television to talk foolishly. For him to have gone on television to call Black Stars players as fool is unfortunate. He is rather the biggest fool.”
