- Kennedy Agyapong has tender in his evidence to the CID
- He said to have refused to appear before the CID in person
Some fresh information gathered indicates that the Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has failed to honor the invitation of the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service.
According to a report put up my Daily Guide newspaper, though the controversial MP had earlier submitted some evidence to the CID, he has since failed to turn up to provide a written statement.
The maverick MP and musician, Kwame A Plus were invited by the CID over some wild corruption allegations leveled against some top appointees of the Akufo-Addo administration.
But a trusted source within the headquarters of the CID has hinted Daily Guide that A Plus presented his evidence to the CID in a company of his brother.
The source accounted that it doesn’t look like Mr Agyapong is willing to appear before police investigators anytime soon.
Kennedy Agyapong earned invitation to the CID after he leveled corruption allegations against some top NPP officials at the Flagstaff House, including Communications Minister, Madam Ursula Owusu-Ekuful.
He said among other things that, some appointees surrounding President Akufo-Addo demands a whooping sum of US$20,000 before scheduling a meeting with the President.
A claim the Flagstaff House communications has since denied, describing the allegations as preposterous.
However, the Director General in charge of Public Affairs at the CID, ACP David Eklu has told the media that a follow-up investigations would only commence into A-Plus’ corruption allegations based on the statement he had given to the police.
