Some nineteen suspects standing trial for their various roles in connection with the murder of the late army officer, Major Maxwell Mahama Adams today appeared in court with each of them holding Holy Bible.
According to Kasapafmonline.com report, all the suspects were singing melodies gospel praises as they arrived at the court premises and whiles disembarking into police vehicle.
The report says some onlookers who thronged the court premises to witness proceedings were stunned to see all the 19 sung the gospel songs in unison.
The report stated that the suspects who appeared to have been repented with sorrowful faces engaged in a short prayer session before alighting from police vans.
“There was drama in court today as we witnessed a rare spectacle. All the 19 suspects bowed their head and prayed as soon as they sat down in the court room. People who had gathered in court were very surprised at the conduct of the suspects as this behavior has not been seen since hearing began,” a journalist who was on the ground reported.
The Court upon short hearing adjourned the case to September 25 on the grounds of waiting for the Attorney General’s advice.
It could be recalled that the late army officer was brutally murdered after some irate youth of Denkyira-Obuasi charged on him in the Central Region.
The death of Major Mahama stuns the nation as the angry youth ignored his numerous pleas after accusing him of being an armed robber.
The Police subsequently rounded up over fifty suspects who had fled the town to other regions in the country, 19 of the suspects are currently standing full trial for murder.
