- Former president Mahama says his loss in the 2016 elections happened to reveal the incompetence of the NPP
- Mahama is cautioning party members to desist from divisiveness
Former president John Dramani Mahama has consoled himself following his massive defeat in the just ended 2016 elections by Nana Addo.
Speaking to supporters of the opposition NDC at the party's first ever unity walk, John Mahama resolved that "If God had not made made the party lose, Ghanaians would have believed that the NPP is capable of solving their problems but the evidence is clear for all to see. The NPP is not capable of running the country".
Meanwhile, Mahama has charged party members to desist from the acts of divisiveness arguing that such practices have the chance of making the party suffer longer in opposition.
So far, it remains unsure if indeed Mahama will be contesting for the flag bearer position of the party ahead of the 2020 elections as other names continues to pop up.
