In fact, reports by Daily Guide claims that key members from Mahama's office - Edudze Tamakloe, Abraham Ferguson and Rabiu - are currently in "a series of meetings in Accra and Tamale in the Greater Accra and the Northern Regions respectively, as a prelude for his campaign."

It has also emerged that the former Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) boss, Kojo Bonsu, took an advantage to make known Mahama's intentions of running for president in the just held mammoth unity march in Tamale.

"One of the strategies being used by Mr. Mahama’s ‘boys’ is to organise people from the Greater Accra, Brong-Ahafo and Ashanti Regions to Tamale in their numbers to convince supporters of the NDC in the north that he (Mahama) is the best bet for 2020," the Daily Guide is quoted as stating.

Should Mahama's intentions be really true, then it would seem that the former president could be faced with grave opposition from a section of party members who make the case that Mahama['s decision to run for elections could cause the party's defeat in the 2020 elections.
