- The free SHS policy is expected to start today, September 11, with over 400,000 students expected to benefit
- Nana Addo will be launching the policy on Tuesday, September 12.
Over 400,000 students across various Senior High Schools (SHS) will from today, September 11, be enjoying free access to SHS education.
This policy, which has been the mantra for Nana Addo for over 8 years now will see all schools suspend the charging of fees to students as government will now be paying everything related to making tuition in the SHS.
“Free SHS will also cover agricultural, vocational and technical institutions at the high school level. I also want to state clearly again that we have a well-thought out plan that involves the building of new public senior high schools and cluster public senior high schools,” the President Akufuo-Addo had recently stated.
YEN.com.gh is gathering that Nana Akufo-Addo will be launching the program at the West African Senior High School (WASS) in Accra on Tuesday, September 12, 2017.
There have been concerns over how Nana Addo wishes to fund the free SHS as government has assured that it will be funded mainly through the gains from the oil sector.
