-Boy hides his cancer diagnosis from parents because he wants them to be happy
-He, however, confided in his uncle about the disease and told him not to share
- The boy’s grandmother had allegedly died of the same disease. His wish is not to die so soon
A 13-year-old boy has been secretly battling cancer because he is scared his parents cannot handle the news of his looming death.
The teen, only identified as Santhosh, was diagnosed with cancer but remained tied lipped about it. His mom reportedly knew he was sick. What she didn’t know was the exact disease. The boy decided to confide in his uncle instead.
“I shared with my uncle about the cancer and told him not to tell my parents because I didn’t want to make them sad,” says Santhosh.

The news was, however, so grave that his uncle couldn’t just keep quite. He told Santhosh’s parents so that they could start seeking for medical help for their son.
Santhosh’s grandmother had reportedly died of the same disease not long ago, and this contributed to his fear to share with parents.
‘I didn’t want to let my parents down. I want to continue with my studies and make my parents happy. I hope cancer will not kill me like it killed my grandmother,’ he says.
His parents, who are poor, are now seeking for financial support to treat Santhosh. Doctors say he needs bone marrow transplant.

The uncle has already started a crowd-funding site to raise some cash towards the boys’ treatment.
