According to the National Organiser of Ghana’s largest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams, the Akufo-Addo led government deserves praise for the Free SHS programme.

He however added that it would have been best if all students enjoyed the package.
He went on to say that anyone who spoke ill of the policy did not have the interest of the country at heart.
He further advised the government to implement measures that would make the policy a beneficial one for all concerned.
He again stated that emphasis should also be placed on the quality of tuition. Needy but brilliant students, he stated, should enjoy some benefits as well.
The Free SHS programme was one of the key campaign policies of the Akufo-Addo-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the heat of the 2016 elections.
Kofi Adams however added that the Free SHS programme is similar to NDC’s progressively free education policy, as enshrined in their campaign programme in the 2016 elections.
