President Nana Akufo-Addo, accompanied by his Vice, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and several other members of government, launched the Free SHS policy on Tuesday.
The event was held at the West African Senior High School, along the Adenta highway.
Several other dignitaries and interested stakeholders in areas of education and arts were also present at the launch.
The president gave a speech, expressing optimism at the smooth execution of the program , while giving assurance that all criticisms and issues will be taken in stride, and resolved.
The Free SHS policy was the flagship campaign promise of the New Patriotic Party, and after eight months in office, the government finally launched the program.
Students enrolled under this policy will have all necessary fees covered, and this includes tuition, feeding and school uniforms.
