- Member of the NPP is calling on civil society organisations to come to the aid of Afia Schwarzenegger
- The NPP communicator claims it is an affront on human rights for Afia not to be assisted in these hard times after the leakage of her video
The tragedy of comedienne, Afia Schwarzenegger, has finally reached the attention of the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a communications member, Kwabena Berma Pobi, has expressed sadness over the silence by civil society.
According to him, the attack on Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa aka Afia Schwarzenegger was an attack on Ghanaian womanhood in general. He likened the attack on the showbiz personality by her ex-husband to murder.
“What if Afia had retaliated by grabbing a weapon to defend herself. Couldn’t this have been another case of Fennec Okyere, with Afia’s family never finding out who killed their child? These may be mere questions but how long will institutions sit aloof for the worse to happen to people before they make it a national issue? Are they waiting only to be heard during national elections,” he quizzed.
The angry communicator states that the deafening silence of the Christian Council and other clergy not forgetting that of the Gender ministry is an affront to human rights in the country.
The marriage between the pair has since been on the rocks, with Afia subsequently suing Abrokwah for assault and leaking of her sex video.
However, it appears the comedienne has decided to go for some marriage counselling from Prophet Yiadom, widely regarded as the ‘Prophet One’. It is unknown what their discussion was about, but Afia Schwarzenegger took to Instagram to thank the Prophet for his counsel during these trying times.
