Belinda Nana Akua Amoah, known in showbiz circles as singer Mzbel has jumped to the defense of popular TV host and comedian, Afia Schwarzenegger.
Over the past few days, Afia Schwarzenegger became the face of an alleged cheating scandal which was further emphasized with the leak of a nude video of her and a lover.
Afia’s estranged husband Lawrence Abrokwah, while responsible for the video recording, denied posting it on social media.
He was reported to the police however, for threatening to harm Afia with a harmful chemical substance and the distribution of obscene material
The substance was later revealed to be just water.
Several celebrities have expressed their opinions on the issue, with majority of them condemning Abrokwah’s conduct.
Among them is singer Mzbel, who has said she does not understand the scathing remarks Afia Schwarzenegger has received since the scandal broke out.
According to her, the scandal has no sensible basis, so it is shocking that Ghanaians are refusing to dig for the truth in the issue.
Speaking to Joy FM on Tuesday, Mzbel stated: “I don’t think she is a prostitute. It doesn’t make sense to me. I wasn’t sure of the whole thing going on. After seeing the full video, I think no one knows the truth in the matter. She is not that type. She is loud and all that but she is not into men.”
The singer who seemed upset at the matter added, conclusions can’t be made as the full story of the scandal is not yet known.
"The Afia that I know, when we were friends, I never saw her with any guy, I never saw her fantasize about any guy. She wasn’t the type that talked about sex…she wasn’t like that. She is about having fun, we drink, we hang out, we make noise, crazy stuff, drive on speed, do silly stuff," she added.
