YEN.com.gh has gathered that the National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party, Sammy Awuku has been appointed the head of new board of the Youth Employment Agency.
The board which will be inaugurated on September 15, constitutes eight other members that were approved by President Akufo-Addo and the Council of State.
The other members of the board include, Dr. Kwame Amoako Tuffour, Bright Justin Kodua Frimpong and Bright Wireko Brobbey, deputy Minister for Employment and Labor Relations.
Emmanuel Sin Nyet Asigri (AG. CEO of the National Youth Authority) and a Forensic auditor, Mr James Quarshie add to the remainder of the board, totaling it to a nine-member management.
The Youth Employment Agency was established under the Youth Employment Act 2015 (Act 887) to empower young people to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic and sustainable development of the nation.
The agency seeks to support young people between the ages of 15 to 35 years through skills training and internship modules to help them progress from a state of unemployment to employment.
