- Marriage counselor says the true test of dating is marriage
- Says marriages fail because people aren't honest with each other and themselves
Popular Ghanaian marriage counselor, Counselor Adolofi, has shared a message on his Facebook page detailing the difficulties of dating, and the errors of rushing into marriage unprepared.
According to Couselor Adolofi, one of the reasons why a lot of marriages don't stand the test of time is because the couples didn't do the dating game (which it is definitely not... a game) properly and proceeded to marriage.
In a post shared on the popular marriage counselor's Facebook page, Counselor Adolofi equated the act of rushing into marriage after - according to Counselor Adolofi - failing the dating game to giving a job to an unqualified candidate.
"The true test of dating is in marriage, and reasons why most marriages are not lasting is because couples came into the marriage with bad grades from dating. They failed at dating yet proceeded to marriage. It's like giving a job to someone who is not qualified. People got married to the wrong and called it right." wrote the popular marriage counselor.

Counselor Adolofi goes on to say that another reason for the sheer amount of failed marriages these days because a lot of couples aren't being honest with both themselves, and their potential better halves from their dating days.
Thus according to the popular marriage counselor, couples tend to end up in relationships where they're unaware of their partners real intentions. He added that young couples don't understand that a lot of work goes into relationships, and that its a duty one can't take a break from, but that every challenge leaves the couple in question stronger.

Speaking about what a marriage should be, the marriage counselor said marriage ought to be based on something more than sex and material gains.
"It shouldn't be about beauty for that fades too. But to be with someone who makes you smile with the truth, who makes you laugh every day," he wrote.
Counselor Adolofi concludes by urging all to endeavor to be honest with their partners, kindness could go a long way in a relationship.
