A 29-year-old American woman is making a real difference in society by helping to feed tens of thousands of people in need.
Lauren Puryear started her initiative known as "For The Love of Others" in 2012. It aims to assist people of all backgrounds “through providing opportunities to enable them to live a purposeful life.”
Last year, she set a goal for herself to deliver over 30,000 meals to people in need by her 30th birthday.
With her 30th birthday just days away, she has already more than doubled her goal. With the help of several volunteers, she has delivered over 65,000 meals so far.
In an interview, the New Jersey-based mental health clinician said she uses supermarket coupons and vouchers to get food at a much cheaper cost.
She said: “The little things we take for granted, the food we throw away every day … and if we just spread a little more love around, the world would be such a better place.”
Wise and inspiring words indeed! To learn more about her initiative, visit her website here.
