Arsenal defeat German side FC Cologne 3-1 in Europa League match

Premier League club Arsenal on Thursday, September 14, 2017 began their campaign in the 2017/18 Europa League championship on a good note after beating FC Cologne 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

But the Gunners labored in the tough encounter as they had to come from a goal down to record the victory to the delight of many Arsenal fans.

The visitors surprisingly took the lead at the Emirates in the 9th minutes when Jhon Cordoba scored a powerful long range shot after a defensive gaffe from Arsenal defenders.

Arsenal tried all they could to restore parity after conceding the first goal, but both sides went to the break with the visitors leading.

On resumption, Arsenl changed their style of play as they were more aggressive which eventually paid off when Sead Kolasinac leveled up for the Gunners in the 49th minute.

Chilean international Alexis Sanchez scored the second goal for Arsenal in the 67th minutes, while defender Bellerin netted the winning goal for the Gunners at the death.
