Stanbic Bank Ghana has decided to endorse government’s free Senior Secondary School (SHS) policy in the most intriguing of ways.
Staff of the bank reported to work on Friday in school uniforms, to the surprise of their customers.
The free SHS policy was the flagship programme of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), led by president Akufo-Addo, during the 2016 electioneering period.
And government finally rolled out the programme earlier this week, with secondary school students now set to attend school without paying fees for tuition, boarding, admission, library, examination and meals.
Majority of Ghanaians have lauded the initiative by government, and it appears Stanbic Bank have also decided to endorse the Free SHS policy in their own way.
Almost all staff members were in the traditional government uniforms on Friday as they attended to customers.
A Facebook user named Samuel Bryan Buabeng visited one of the Stanbic Bank branches in Accra and immediately posted pictures of their staff wearing school uniforms.
It is unknown what accounted for such a move, but this indirect endorsement by Stanbic Bank is definitely massive.
