Miss Gyankromah Akufo Addo, daughter of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and Direction of the Creative Arts Council, has defended her appointment to the government body.
According to the Director of the Creative Council, she was appointed to the government body because of her professional competence, rather than her familial relation to the President of Ghana.
Early this year Tourism, Arts, and Culture Minister, Hon. Catherine Afeku, inaugurated a Creative Arts Council to review the Creative Arts Bill and see to its passage into law.

Headed by the Gyankromah Akufo Addo, the council also includes Mark Okraku Mantey, music producer and manager of Hitz FM, and actress Bibi Bright.
Speaking in an interview Starr News' Kwaku Obeng-Addo, Miss Akufo Addo stated that her father, the President, is passionate about the creative arts and that she's always wanted to make him proud.

"...in this stance I’m not there as his daughter but I’m there as someone he knows can do the job, who is qualified for the job and knows can do the job; has the experience for the job and passionate about the job. And my proof is to prove to my President that I’m capable of doing it”, said Miss Akufo Addo.
