-VIP bus burns beyond recognition after a back tyre exploded
-A bread seller at Nkawkaw saw smoke coming out of the bus and prompted the driver to stop
The vigilance of a bread seller on Sunday saved over 30 passengers on a Kumasi-bound VIP bus from being burnt in their vehicle.
According to information gathered by YEN.com.gh, the lady who was selling around Nkawkaw on the Accra-Kumasi Highway spotted an unusual smoke coming out of the car and prompted the driver of the bus.
The driver immediately screeched to a halt asked the passengers to get off the bus.
Moments later one of the back tyres exploded and the bus burnt beyond recognition.
Although all the passengers escaped unhurt, they lost their belongings.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) is reported to have arrived too late to salvage the bus.
It is not yet known what caused the accident but reports suggest it may have been due to a mechanical fault.
