The Tuobodom Senior High/Technical School will offer nearly 300 first year students starting the 2017/2018 academic year free mattresses, YEN.com.gh has gathered.
According to the acting headmaster for the school, Mr. Ampaabeng Nketia, the school has about 1000 mattresses available for the new boarding students.
In a report by Peace FM, the mattresses were provided Alexander Kyeremeh, the former member of parliament for the Techiman North Constituency, where the school is located.
The donation is to help ease the financial constraints on parents whose wards have been placed in the boarding option at the school.
The headmaster stated: “It will help parents because the monies to buy mattresses will be channeled to other useful ventures. If we are to admit the thousand students as boarders, they will all have access to these mattresses from the former MP.”
So far, about 400 students have completed their enrollment process at the school under the new Free SHS policy.
Tuobodom SHS, according to the headmaster will now be able to admit all the students that received placement at the school.
