Reginald Yaw Asante Osei, better known in showbiz circles as Reggie Rockstone responded sternly to some comments by the public that his accent is a forced Western accent.
Reggie was earlier criticized for an Instagram post, where he bemoaned the lack of support among artistes in the showbiz industry in Ghana.
Some sections of the public expressed disappointment in the rapper's words, admonishing him for speaking in ‘foreign’ accent while criticizing Ghanaians in his post.
This prompted the ‘Godfather of Hiplife’ to clapback at the criticisms, stating his accent should not be the takeaway from his original post.
Reggie, speaking fluent Akan in this new video stated that though he was not born in Ghana, he managed to learn the Akan language and returned to Ghana to launch the Hiplife genre.
According to him, his accent is not like the 'Locally Acquired Foreign Accent' that some Ghanaians speak with.
Reggie captioned the post: "DON'T TRY PLAY THE OLU WHEN HE LAYS TRUTH! I SPOKE ON GH HATING ON GH AND SUM OF YOU TRIED TO DEVIATE FROM THE TRUTH BY ASKING WHY I SAID ALL IN ENGLISH AND MY ACCENT YOU WROTE ALL IN ENGLISH THO SMH! CHECK MY HISTORY FOLX!
