- Man drops expensive engagement ring into a lake as he proposed
- He was in the middle of popping the big question when the ring slipped
- On hearing that, his friends plunged into the water under bridge to scour for the treasure
Seth Dixon had searched his soul and discovered that he was ready to spend the rest of his life with Ruth Salas. The lovely pair from Kansas City had been dating for a while.
So Dixon gathered sufficient courage and went straight down on his knees to pop the big question. But just before he could get it done, the golden engagement ring slipped through his fingers and dropped into a lake under bridge.
“It went deep down the river,” Ruth, who was still processing the unprecedented romantic gesture, can be heard saying in a clip.
Footage of the romantic episode shows Dixon on his knees while holding the hands of his lovely girlfriend moments before the proposal is rudely interrupted by the falling of the diamond ring, estimated to be Ghc12,7k.
The couple’s friends immediately plunged into the lake armed with goggles and tried to scour for the costly engagement ring. Unfortunately, they couldn't find it.
They then decided to set up a GoFundMe account to raise some cash and replace the lost diamond ring, which Dixon is reportedly still paying for.
However, the proposal hiccups did not thwart the intended engagement. Ruth finally got engaged as planned and is now set to marry Dixon, Uber driver.
