Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, the founder of the World Miracle Outreach, has called on Ghanaians and the security officers in to forgive the residents of Denkyira-Obuasi for the murder of Major Maxwell Mahama.
In May 2017, the late Captain Mahama was lynched by irate youth of Denkyira-Obuasi after they reportedly mistook for an armed robber.
The Ghana Police Service, in conjunction with the Ghana Armed Forces, has since arrested and detained a number of suspects in the killing who are now facing the charges in court.
As the court proceedings drag, the Man of God, Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, stated that, "..it is time to show love, reconnect and come together as a nation to forgive the people of Denkyira Obuasi."
The evangelist believes a national tragedy occurred in the town, "and that as a nation we are all guilty in one way or the other for shedding innocent blood".
Lawrence Tetteh was in the town earlier to launch his 3-day crusade titled "Total Restoration".
He met with elders and the youth of the town who are helping with preparations for the crusade scheduled to come off on October 11, 12 and 13 this year.
According to a report by Graphic.com.gh, the linguist of the area, while speaking at the launch asked for forgiveness from Ghanaians.
“Even though not all the people were involved, we have all been linked to the crime and are suffering the repercussions,” he said.
