A 46-year-old woman is appealing for funds to purchase chop-box and truck for his son who has gained Free SHS admission to school.
According to the woman she cannot afford the price of chop-box and a trunk and other provisions to assist her son into boarding house despite his successful enrollment onto the Free SHS.
Madam Esther also known as Mama, therefore made a desperate journey from the Brong Ahafo region to the Ashante regional capital, Kumasi to solicit for funds from individuals in support of her son.
Mama Esther told Nhyira FM in Kumasi that, her son was placed and admitted at Sunyani Senior High School to benefit from the Free SHS but says money to buy essential items on the prospectus has become a major challenge.
She also added that her husband is jobless and they’re struggling to raise funds in support of their son.
Mama applauded President Akufo-Addo for the Free SHS policy, insisting that it will relieve the poorest of the poor in Ghanaian society.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP), Free SHS policy launched by President Akufo-Addo recently is targeting about 400,000 students to secure entry to study various programmes with all their bills taken care off by the government.
