The 11th graduation ceremony of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) scheduled to take place on Friday, September 22 has been called off.
A notice announcing the cancellation, however, failed to mention a new date for the ceremony.
“The 11th congregation ceremony scheduled for Friday 22nd September has been postponed to a date to be announced later”, it read.
This is the second time the graduation ceremony, which was originally scheduled for September 8, has been postponed.
The reasons for the second postponement is yet to be officially disclosed but sources in the school suggest agitations from students.
According to information gathered by YEN.com.gh, many of the graduants have raised concerns about their final grades
While students who did not partake in their final exams and were not eligible for graduation have been graded and awarded classes, others have been awarded undeserving classes, YEN.com.gh heard.
The school’s authorities are said to be frantically putting in efforts to resolve the students’ concerns.
