It has emerged that school authorities at the Nungua Senior High School in Accra are charging students for their school uniforms despite warnings by the GES against the act.
YEN.com.gh is gathering that all school uniforms including textbooks have been absorbed in the free SHS policy by government but checks at the Nungua SHS shows exactly the opposite.
"Male students were being charged GHc 184 for their uniforms, while the girls were being charged GHc 175 for theirs," A report by CitiFM reveals.
So far, GES has sacked two head teachers for allegedly charging illegal fees under the free SHS policy with 19 other teachers assisting with investigations over the issue of extorting funds from first year students.
