- Nana Addo's daughter was appointed by the tourism minister, Catherine Afeku
Daughter of president Akufo-Addo who doubles as the director of the Creative Arts Council - Gyankromah Akufo-Addo - has replied all critics who say she is unfit for the job stating they will soon respect her impact at the council.
It all happened when Gyankromah Akufo-Addo got appointed by the minister of tourism, Cathering Afeku as director of creative arts that some members of the opposition NDC party questioned her background and efficiency in the Creative Arts Industry.
Meanwhile, daughter of Akufo-Addo maintains that he gained the appointment not because of her familial links to the president but rather her capacity and intelligence.
“My father is very passionate about the creative art and I have always wanted to make my father proud, and in this stance I’m not there as his daughter but I’m there as someone he knows can do the job, who is qualified for the job and knows can do the job; has the experience for the job and passionate about the job. And my proof is to prove to my President that I’m capable of doing it,” she revealed.
The setting up of the creative arts council comes in the wake of Ghana's tourism sector recording slow growth over the past 4 years.
