Ace radio broadcaster, Abeiku Aggrey Santana has added his voice to the controversial issue of legalizing the use of marijuana in the country with the icon pushing for steps to be taken to make the use of the substance legal.
In an Instagram post made by nkonkonsa.com, the radio personality was seen in a video and was heard saying, “All we are saying is that stop criminalizing marijuana, but you approve adverts for alcohol…give freedom to the people; let the people take the seed of wisdom so that it would open their eyes and mind and change the economy”.
The radio personality insinuated that alcohol was approved, legalized and regulated so he could not fathom why it was taking long for the appropriate bodies to legalize marijuana.
The popular radio presenter indicated that marijuana was the ‘seed of wisdom’ and it allowing its use was going to give freedom to people.
His calls for the legalization of cannabis comes on the heels of other notable personalities calling for the legalization of marijuana.
It is purported that the former United Nations Secretary General, Kofi Annan had made calls some time back for governments to legalize but regulate the use of cannabis to curb the way the drug is abused.
Other personalities are riding on these calls for the legalization of weed and have added their voices to press home demands to the government the need to have the use of cannabis legalized.
Fellow radio personality and musician, Blakk Rasta has produced a song titled “Kofi Annan” and revealed that the former UN Secretary General had called for the legalization of weed therefore it was the right thing for the government to do.
