- Kennedy Agyapong is calling against the August 4th holiday expected to be passed in parliament
- The MP is worried such holidays have the chance of wrecking Ghana's economy
Maverick politician, Kennedy Agyapong is calling for an immediate reduction in the number of holidays in Ghana.
Commenting on the new August 4th holiday introduced by government, Kennedy makes the case that such lengthy holidays have the potential of affecting productivity in the country.
According to him, productivity is virtually grounded on every public holiday which huge revenue loses to government.
"The holidays are too much in Ghana. Government should streamline it so we can move forward,” he stated.
The concerns by the maverick politicians come in the wake of plans by President Akufo-Addo to propose legislation to Parliament to designate August 4 as Founders Day, instead of September 21 for the Founders Day celebration.
